8 Weeks to Wellness

You cannot medicate your way out of a problem you behaved your way into.

The measure of health is much more than looking good in a bathing suit. It is also measurable by more than just absence of illness. Wellness is tangible—it can be measured. We all know someone who felt fine one day and dropped dead the next of a heart attack; or the women who felt fine today but was diagnosed with breast cancer the next. Lack of symptoms or feeling good is no way to measure wellness!

With the implementation of 8Weeks to Wellness, people in our community have become healthier while also decreasing their medication usage. Through this holistic approach, clients are then given the opportunity to learn to make changes for themselves through diet, exercise, and self-care under the guidance and support they need to be successful. Based on results from 200 people who completed the program, it works. The average participant lost 15 pounds and 4 inches from their waistline. Their hip measurement went down an average of 2.5 inches, and their blood pressure decreased by 16 points. In the 8 Weeks to Wellness program, the “yardstick” of wellness is what is referred to as a True Wellness Score.

So how do we measure your wellness? We measure wellness with something called a Wellness Score, which is scoring system can track and measure your physiology and function.  When we do your wellness score we look at numerous biomarkers of health and actually give you a letter grade, just like in school.

What We Score & Why 

  • Body Mass Index (BMI) - It is a height and weight chart. Your BMI needs to be below 30 and if it is not, you have exponentially increased your risk factor for the three biggest killers of Americans, heart disease, cancer and obesity-related conditions such as diabetes.
  • Your Posture - You live your life through your nervous system and your posture tell us exactly what is going on with your spine and nerve system. We take a digital photo of you from the front and side. A picture is worth a 1000 words.
  • Core Strength and Flexibility - We have eight different ways to test your strength and flexibility of core muscles. We sit too much and it is taking its toll on our bodies.
  • Cellular Health - The single best determiner of how well we age is how fat we get. We use the In Body System to measure your Body Fat %, Phase Angle, Intercellular Water and Lean Muscle Mass to determine your true cellular age.
  • Neuro-spinal Function - As chiropractors, we work with your spine and nerve system to optimize your health. Your Chiropractic examination and x-rays tell us how well your nerve system is adapting to your environment.
